Steven Howard, Owner and principal consultant

As a bid consultant, Steven has helped to produce winning tenders and proposals across many different industries. A corporate manager for many years, Steven was latterly involved in outsourcing IT services and managing service supply contracts. Through his managerial and organisational experiences, Steven developed a keen interest in the human dynamics inherent in organisational life.

Steven left corporate life in 2003 to pursue a career change focused on providing personal coaching and complete a Master’s degree in social psychology. Combined with his extensive corporate experience, his solid grounding in psychology and the use of language to affect others means that Steven has a deep understanding of organisational cultures, the demands that lead to tenders being issued and the processes used to determine the questions and evaluation criteria. This translates into insightful guidance on how best to understand the client, respond to the questions and shape more effective tenders and proposals.

In the course of his tendering involvements, Steven has been integral member of a range of bid teams—from working with a one man in-country representative through to coaching teams of up to 50 or more comprising senior managers, sales staff, client managers, technical specialists, professional bid writers, bid designers, and desktop publishers. His proven capabilities across bid process development and implementation, strategy formulation, workshop facilitation, project management, key messaging, writing and tender production mean that he can add real value across a wide spectrum of tendering projects and activities.
